As the President and founder of Restaurant PR, Stephanie Faison works closely with food industry professionals to customize their own individual public relations programs. With the aid of a workbook, tailored media list and virtual publicist, Ms. Faison and her expert team guide restaurateurs, chefs, managers, and staff down a do-it-yourself pathway to successful public relations.
Since 1988, Ms. Faison has been President of SCO Communications, a public relations and marketing firm with an emphasis on hospitality, food and beverage. Throughout her career, she has worked with several high-profile clients, including Hebrew National, Sugar Foods, the Livanos Restaurant Group, La Caravelle, Picholine, and The Plaza Hotel. For the past three years, Ms. Faison has also worked closely with Seafood Choices Alliance on creating the current social movement towards seafood conservation.
In addition to her client work, Ms. Faison has marketed PBS cooking programs for A La Carte Communications, served as a consultant to agencies such as J. Walter Thompson and Grey Advertising, and handled special events for Gourmet Magazine.
One of Ms. Faison’s greatest personal accomplishments was helping to organize the communications for the Windows of Hope Family Relief Fund, following the attacks on the World Trade Center in September, 2001. Her other volunteer efforts include serving on the Board of Directors for Les Dames d’Escoffier and the leadership council of Share Our Strength, as well as on the Marketing Committee of the International Association of Culinary Professionals.
Ms. Faison earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ithaca College, and attended the University of Madrid in Spain. In her spare time she enjoys playing pool, skiing, and cooking.
